REVIEW:
Better pizza, at least. Much like the original Williamsburg location, Best Pizza in Bushwick, Brooklyn is improving the pizza landscape one neighborhood at a time. While googling “Best Pizza” in New York may send you on wild goose chase, once you arrive and take a taste, you will see why they gave themselves that name. Regardless of the superlative, I must admit that they make a superb slice. I’m a particular fan of the plain. The extra large slice is thin, crisp and uniformly coated with just the right amount of melted mozzarella cheese and rich tomato sauce. If you like anchovies, I also recommend the twice-baked grandma which uses the fish in their secret savory sauce. Other slices feature sesame seed crust, kale and beets to name a few. Impressively, the Bushwick outpost has adapted the characteristic perfect bake from their wood-fired oven in Williamsburg to a state of the art electric oven. Whatever type of oven they use in the future, I hope the next Best Pizza location will be near my home.
