DAY 1: OCTOBER 1st, 2024
LOCATION: Cello's Pizza (36 St Marks Pl, New York, NY 10003)
GUEST(S): Ange DeManti, Jon Monje, Erica Diederich
ORDER: 1 slice of cheese, 1/2 slice of tomato and burrata, 1/2 slice of pepperoni and vodka
REVIEW:
A great street slice on a great street. Cello’s is the latest in a growing line of pizzerias to occupy 36 St. Mark’s Place and, like its predecessor, Funzi's, is a throwback to the classic slice joint serving elevated New York street slices. Expect your extra large triangular slice to be layered with high quality savory tomato sauce and melted mozzarella upon a crisp, evenly cooked underside and a puffy outer edge. It’s the perfect handle to snap and fold then take it to go or stay and eat in the surprisingly spacious dining area. Cello’s also offers other premium ingredients like Burrata and broccoli rabe, pepperoni cups and a savory vodka sauce. So next time your out late in the East Village or want to celebrate a new tattoo, pair it with a slice from Cello’s.
