Day 2, 2024: Impasto (Clinton Hill, Brooklyn)

DAY 2: OCTOBER 2nd, 2024

LOCATION: Impasto (373 Waverly Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11238)

GUEST(S): Aaron Gold

ORDER: 1 slice of Margherita, 1/2 slice of Rossa E Bufala (San Marzano and Buffalo mozzarella), 1/2 slice of Pepperoni, 1/2 slice of Salsiccia E Funghi (sausage and mushroom), 1/2 slice of Marinara, 1/2 slice of Zuchini

REVIEW:
Neighborhood Roman slice shop. Thanks to Impasto, Clinton Hill, Brooklyn has its own top tier Roman style pizzeria. Serving topping-centric square slices that are both big yet light with just the right amount of crunch. What is even more impressive is how fresh each one tastes immediately out of the oven despite being pre-baked at the beginning of the day. I recommend ordering something conventional like the Margherita and then something creative like the Zuchini slice while trying to save room for Impasto's soft serve gelato. Expect to eat your slices on the go since there is no inside dining area but, weather permitting, I recommend grabbing a seat on the surprisingly quiet and residential sidewalk out front. If you are lucky enough to live in the area, Impasto may just be your new favorite pizza joint.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor and Aaron gold

1. Aaron Gold hosts a podcast turned TV show called Don't Mind if I Don't. You can see it on youtube and the Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN).

2. Shanah Tova! It's Rosh Hashana so Happy New Year. Hard to believe it's 5784 - I'm still writing "5783" on my checks.

3. Aaron can do impressive impressions on the spot. I suggested Andy Samberg and he nailed it!
