Pie by the River. Even if you haven't had the chance to eat pizza in Montana, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub may soon bring Montana pizza to you - if you're lucky! Based on the placement of their first 28 locations, your chances will improve if you live near a body of water. The Idaho Falls restaurant, for instance, is situated on Idaho's Snake River, serving unique pizza on three different styles of crust. I opted for the Half & Half Specialty pizza on thin crust to try both a traditional pizza: the Fresh Tomato Basil, and a more unconventional pizza: the MacKenzie River. The MacKenzie River half combined roasted zucchini, spinach, mushrooms, garlic and feta cheese for a unique flavor unlike any other. They must have their cooking technique down to a science, because despite the variety and quantity of ingredients on two different sides of the pie, it baked perfectly evenly. Their motto touts the "Best Pie from the Big Sky" and I don't doubt it. I especially appreciate and admire the ambition to define their own style. The staff are especially accommodating during these pandemic times with masks, curbside delivery, and all 'round niceness. I can't wait to go back to enjoy some more Montana pizza at MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill & Pub's spacious dining area in the not too distant future.
Sean & Robin
1. Robin Rothman took our pizza "to go" and went outside to the banks of the nearby Snake River to enjoy our pizza picnic. Idaho is beautiful this time of year.

2. Robin and I woke up at an RV Park in the Tetons called Moose Creek River Ranch and were greeted by a group of goats that seemed pretty comfortable with selfies.
