REVIEW:
Pub fare with Mexican flare. When owner Connor Watts and his wife opened Los Muertos Brewing Company in 2012 they succeeded in not only adding to the Puerto Vallarta community but becoming a huge part of it. According to
Out and About Puerto Vallarta magazine, Watts throws an annual anniversary party in the street aptly named "Fiesta en la Calle" with live music, beer and pizza. The event exemplifies the best of what Watts and his wife have to offer since she is a singer and he is a craft brewer and pizza baker. By coinciding with the festivities of Dia de los Muertos, the event (and the name of the brewery) pay tribute to the traditions of their new Mexican home. The menu does too. I recommend trying a signature pizza such as the Pastor which features local toppings such as sliced jalapeños, finely diced pineapple, shredded cilantro, and marinated pork. Los Muertos also offers conventional pizzas as well and even sells cheese and pepperoni pizza by the slice. All the pizza comes on a very thin-yet-sturdy crust not unlike a typical New York City street slice. Wash it down with unique beers brewed on the premises. With different pizzas and seasonal beers changing on a weekly basis, there is always something new at Los Muertos. Located not too far from the center town with two open air floors and a trendy decor, this brewpub has one of the coolest vibes in the neighborhood. Puerto Vallarta has embraced Los Muertos and after just one visit, I am confident you will too.

Day 24 |
MISCELLANEOUS:
|
Lily Rothman, Paul Rothman, Sean Taylor, Robin Rothman |
1. It just so happens we visited Los Muertos within a week of los dios de los muertos. The only thing I knew about it I learned in the movie Coco - which I loved! It turns out there are two days in this holiday that is observed by commemorating the dead. The first day is for the children and the second day is for everyone.

The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe |
2. In the town square of Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful church. It is called The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
|
Aboard a bus |
2. The bus is a great way to get around town. It's 10 pesos (~50 cents) and takes you right to the heart of town from practically anywhere in Puerto Vallarta.

Rhythms of the Night - Savia |
1. In the evening, Robin, Paul, Lily and I hopped aboard a Puerto Vallarta Adventures boat which crossed the bay to a the rainforest at Las Caletas to see an acrobatic show and eat limitless food. When you go to a rainforest, expect rain. We got blanketed with it. So much rain! But the show went on and so did the food.
