DAY 25: OCTOBER 25th, 2018

LOCATION: Red Oven Pizza Bakery (6000 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman

ORDER: 3 slices of Margherita (fresh buffalo mozzarella, basil, San Marzano tomatoes, organic extra virgin olive oil)

REVIEW:
Universal appeal. Located on Universal Studios Orlando CityWalk™, Red Oven Pizza Bakery is a real crowd pleaser. Pizza and soft drinks for the kids, fancy pizza and hard drinks for the adults and a huge dining area strategically located at the exit of both theme parks, Red Oven Pizza Bakery caters perfectly to their captive audience. The toppings are high quality and the red gas powered oven is impressive on its own but the sheer quantity of pizzas demanded prevent the trained pizzaioli from maintaining the pies' optimal potential. Dough balls are over floured and stacked to stockpile for impending rushes and topping distribution also suffers but the final result is more than palatable.  I would not recommend going out of your way to get there but if you find yourself at Universal Studios Orlando and you’re looking for pizza, Red Oven Pizza Bakery is the best of what’s around.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor and Robin Rothman
1. Robin Rothman and I left NYC for the airport at 4am.  We landed in Orlando, rented a car, and arrived to Universal Studios before noon.

Central Park from the plane

Times Square from the plane
2. I snapped some photos from out the plane window. I love it when the pilot takes the scenic route over Manhattan.  I'm sure his photos were better. My window was dirty and I can never get my phone to focus out the window.

Robin arrives at Universal Studios
3. I thought Robin was as exhausted as I was since neither one of us had more than an hour of sleep. However, Robin LOVES Universal Studios and Harry Potter.
Robin's first Butterbeer of the day (not her last)
 4. 1st stop: Butterbeer pub. That stuff is tasty.

Hogwarts
5. We dropped by Hogwarts briefly but they would let a muggle like me see the campus.
