DAY 26: OCTOBER 26th, 2018

LOCATION: Lucali (1930 Bay Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman

ORDER: 4.5 slices of cheese

REVIEW:
Pizza in paradise. If there was ever any doubt that Miami lacked great pizza, that went away with the opening of Lucali in South Beach. A perennial favorite on many best pizza lists and multiple Slicey award winner, the original Lucali in Brooklyn consistently ranks as one of the best in the business. Lucky for Miami, owner Mark Iacono chose South Beach as his first venture outside of New York. Those familiar can expect the same masterful wood-fired thin brick oven crust, the same perfect cheese blend of fresh and low-moisture mozzarella with just the right amount of post oven grated Grana Padano and, most importantly, the family secret tomato sauce recipe! With the equally trendy Bay Club sharing a wall next door, you won't need to BYOB in the Miami Lucali. The only think the Miami location lacks is the pizzaiolo himself, Mark Iacono. Brooklyn alone gets him and his unparalleled abilities. But if you want a sun-filled paradise a stone’s throw from one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida, Lucali in South Beach is the best around.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor and Robin Rothman
1. I am writing this blog entry while watching game three of the 2018 World Series between the Dodgers and the Red Sox.  At this point, the game is already the longest in World Series history in both innings and time and it's 2-2 in the 18th. (edit 3:30 am on the East Coast) Muncy won it with a walkoff homer. Wow.

2. Robin Rothman and I drove from Orlando to Miami today. We visited a friend named Danielle Bimonte when we reached West Palm Beach.
