DAY 24: OCTOBER 24th, 2018

LOCATION: SIMÒ Pizza (90-92 Gansevoort St, New York, NY 10014)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman, Eric Buchman, Joel Esher, Kaitlin Strickland, Stefan Dreisbach-Williams

ORDER: 1 slice of Margherita (san marzano tomato, mozzarella di bufala, extra virgin olive oil, basil), 1 slice of Prosciutto e Funghi (san marzano tomato, mozzarella di bufala, cooked ham, fresh cremini mushrooms, extra virgin olive oil, basil), half a slice of a Diavola (san marzano tomato, mozzarella di bufala, spicy soppressata, extra virgin olive oil, basil)

REVIEW:
A new paradigm. One of the main differences between traditional Neapolitan pizza an New York Neapolitan pizza is the price. Naples style pizza is fancier and thus costs more.  With the opening of SIMÒ Pizza,  Simon Falco is turning that assertion on its head by offering super high quality ingredients and authentic Italian cooking techniques at more than affordable prices. Now, patrons can get authentic personal sized Naples baked pizza with imported toppings for less than $10. While this still may be more expensive than a single slice of a pre-prepared New York street slice, it's technically four slices and they are made to order. Similar to a typical sliceria, patrons place their order at the counter when they enter but instead of the staffer tossing a room temperature slice into the oven to reheat, a highly trained SIMÒ pizzaiolo goes to work topping the pizza, tending the oven, and presenting the pizza directly to your table in around the same amount of time. Pair it with reasonably price beer and wine for a surprisingly fancy-casual meal.  Napoletana pizza fans rejoice, SIMÒ Pizza has got you covered.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Kaitlin Strickland, Joel Esher, Robin Rothman, Sean Taylor, Eric Buchman, Stefan Dreisbach-Williams
1. Eric Buchman loved Universal Studios Florida as a kid because he loved the entertainment industry. Now that he's older, he is in it! Eric is writing for the television show The Blacklist. Check it out!

Robin as Trudy Carmichael
2. Robin Rothman had her closing night of her FringeNYC show called Trudy Carmichael Presents the One Woman Herstory.  She was amazing and incredible. I'm sad the run has come to an end and can't wait to see what she does next. For now though, we're off for some rest and relaxation (and pizza eating) in sunny Florida.

3. Joel Esher subbed in for Frank Spitznagel in tonight's show and was marvelous.  He is also is an amazing pianist and composer.  Check out a musical he wrote called Pharma Bro!

4. Stefan Dreisbach-Williams loves boats and non-profits.  Got any ideas on how to combine the two, let him know and you may have yourself a suitable captain.

5. Kaitlin Strickland is married to Joel Esher, loves theatre, travel, and is an all 'round good person.
