Day 1, 2015: Tappo (Chelsea, NYC)

DAY 1: OCTOBER 1st, 2015

LOCATION: Tappo Thin Crust Pizza (49 w 24th Street, New York, NY)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman

ORDER: 1 slice of mushroom, 2 slices of large plain

REVIEW:
Cracker Jackpot! The Tappo Thin Crust Pizza lunch specials are among the best meal deals in the city.  The latest in the Posto - Gruppo - Spunto - Vezzo pizza family tree, Tappo offers the same signature cracker thin crust with the same flavorful high quality ingredients including a creamy low moisture mozzarella cheese and a rich tomato sauce.  With an entire 11am - 5pm menu of specials, Tappo will serve you what you want, when you want it, and for an extremely good price.  During lunch, additional toppings are added as an afterthought so stick with the basics. I recommend the special with a large-enough-for-two plain cheese pie, a huge salad and a soft drink.  Enjoy your meal in bar stools, booths, tables, and even outdoors in the spacious and spotless dining area.  See you there!

MISCELLANEOUS:

Robin Rothman at Potbelly
1. Robin Rothman plays during the lunch rush at Potbelly two times a week.  Her schedule of upcoming gigs can be found at her website RobinRothman.COM.  I think she's the best and here is a sample of her awesomeness:

A year's worth of pizza recommendations
2. While watching Robin sing, I made flash cards of all the pizzerias that have been recommended to me over the last year complete with who recommended it and the location.  Please keep the recommendations coming!
3. I brought the leftover pizza to my improv comedy practice group at the Magnet Training Center. My fellow improvisers liked Tappo slices even after two hours of being carried around the city in the rain.
