DAY 26, OCTOBER 26th, 2012
LOCATION: Justino's (451 3rd Ave, NYC)
ORDER: 1 slice of Chicken Parmigiana
GUEST: Jen MacNeil Danenberg, Kevin Danenberg, Robin Rothman
REVIEW:
Topping variety is the spice of life at Justino's. This Murray Hill sliceria has a 15 foot triple decker display counter loaded with 16+" pies ranging from a White Slice to a Philly Cheesesteak. Included in the vast array is the L & B Square slice which is a twice baked upside down Sicilian style slice and direct homage to L & B Spumoni Gardens in both name and appearance. The recipe for the dough renders a light yet crisp crust that could benefit from additional salt but serves as a sturdy underside and outer edge for the main event: the toppings. I opted for the popular chicken parmigiana slice which came loaded with breaded chicken cutlet swimming amongst alternating puddles of creamy ricotta cheese and rich crushed tomatoes and sprinkled with diced basil and parmigiana flakes. Justino's is a clean, spacious location perfect for lunch that produces a variety of slices that will fill you up for a decent price. I am looking forward to going back when I'm in the area.

MISCELLANEOUS:
1. Jen and Kevin just spent the previous week in Maui, Hawai'i. Since that is where Robin and I honeymooned, I finally got to participate in conversations about Hawai'i things like the Road to Hana, Lahaina, and snorkeling in Molokini. All that stuff is awesome.
2. Kevin knows a lot about Project Management software tools.
3. Jen MacNeil is never late for work.

I guess Sandy will test your metal to eat a slice of pizza every day. Be safe and live to eat pizza another day. We are thinking about you.
