Day 27, 2012: Front St. Tratto'ria (Red Bank, NJ)

DAY 27, OCTOBER 27th, 2012

LOCATION: Front St. Tratto'ria (Red Bank, NJ)

ORDER: 7/8 of an individual Margherita thin crust pizza, 1/8 of an individual Butternut Squash and Balsamic Vinegarette thin crust pizza

GUEST:  Robin Rothman

REVIEW:
The crust alone will keep you coming back.  Front St. Tratto'ria has mastered the chemical composition and preparation technique for baking the perfect crust.  Like an idyllic bagel, the standard Front St. Tratto'ria outer edge is a thin and crisp evenly cooked exterior with a soft and chewy interior.  The Margherita has a light coating of sesame seeds and a dash of salt for a savory aftertaste.  In addition to texture and taste, the dough also provides a sturdy underside after exiting the large Baker's Pride gas-powered deck oven which supports the rich cooked tomato sauce, creamy fresh mozzarella cheese and sliced basil.  Don't feel compelled to keep it traditional.  In addition to a deep dish option, Front St. also offers creative topping combinations such as butter nut squash and balsamic vinegar atop their masterful crust. The thirteen inch individual pies are surprisingly filling and appropriately priced.  Whether you are looking to grab a pre-beach pie or looking for a spacious place to have family-friendly pizza party, Front St. Tratto'ria is the perfect destination serving as a standout example of how good New Jersey pizza can be.

MISCELLANEOUS:
1. We were in Red Bank, NJ to surprise Justin Moran at this awesome arcade called Yestercades.  For a reasonable fee, you get to play all the pinball and 80's era arcade games you want.  I know I was there for Justin but I was too busy playing Tron, Galaga, Dig Dug, and Super Mario Bros. to chat with him.
2. Front St. Tratto'ria has a massive water fountain on the outdoor patio.  Robin and I agree if we ever have the funds and space for it, we want one!
