REVIEW:
Shine bright like a pizza. In an area of Brooklyn already loaded with top tier slice joints and pizzerias, Greenpoint's Diamond Slice manages to stand out. Within walking distance to Chrissy's, Fini, Best Pizza, L'Industrie, Joe's, and Williamsburg Pizza, Diamond slice relies on its full commitment to its high quality product to fit in. Expect an excellent rendition of the quintessential New York street slice elevated with post oven garnishes of shaved pecorino, olive oil and basil. Or opt for one of the many signature slices like the Caesar which defies physics to serve up an entire Caesar salad upon an edible crouton-esque crust. My favorite was the classic pepperoni slice. The spicy pepperoni cups curled up nicely upon the generous amount of savory tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese which are all supported easily on the crisp electric oven baked crust. It's so good, and yet so affordable. We were lucky to get a booth in the decent sized dining area that was teeming with other satisfied customers. The word is out on Diamond Slice, and that word is "yummy." Welcome to the pizza-hood.

1. Xavier Curry and I both went to Dartmouth College but he graduated nearly 15 years after me. He sang in an a capella group called the Aires and was even featured on NBC's The Sing Off back in 2011. Xavier currently does improv comedy at the Magnet Theater and is working on his own album. We also have been known to play Fortnite together.

3. My pizza guests and I went out for gelato after lunch. Robin Rothman got me hooked on the combination of Dark Chocolate and Pistachio.
