LOCATION: Stretch Pizza (320 Kent Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249)

GUEST(S): Michael McLarnon

ORDER: 1/2 slice of Mushroom & Pesto (Mushrooms, Mozzarella, Pesto, Whipped Ricotta, Parmesan), 1/2 slice of Classic NY (Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Basil, Parmesan), 1/2 slice of Sausage & Peppers (Sweet Fennel Sausage, Roasted Peppers, Onion, Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Parmesan, Hot Date Syrup), 1/2 slice of Sicilian Buffalo Chicken, 1 slice of Pepperoni, 1/2 slice of Everything Bagel (Everything Bagel Spice, Chives, Cream Cheese Sauce, Mozzarella, Parmesan)

REVIEW:
Stretch extends its reach. Good news for the pizza-loving residents of Williamsburg: Stretch Pizza has crossed the river! The team behind the Flatiron favorite has opened a second location—this time under the shadow of the Williamsburg Bridge and just steps from the ferry stop. Unlike the original Manhattan spot with its full bar and table service, this Brooklyn outpost keeps things simple: counter service, a few seats, and a laser focus on the pizza. And what pizza it is! The pies come out of a high-tech electric oven with crisp-yet-chewy crusts sturdy enough to hold a generous amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings without drooping. As the name suggests, the dough is the star here. A perfect blend of baker precision and chef creativity, the crust bubbles up beautifully while still maintaining that satisfying stretch when you fold a slice. I recommend starting with a classic cheese or pepperoni to appreciate the fundamentals before venturing into the creative signatures. The “Everything Bagel” slice, for instance, comes decked out with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, dried garlic and onion, salt, chives, cream cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan—so yeah, "everything." You can grab a beer or finish things off with soft serve, but make no mistake—this place is all about the pizza. With its prime location, reasonable prices, and world-class slices, Stretch Williamsburg proves that good things happen when great dough gets room to rise.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor and Michael McLarnon

1. Michael McLarnon created a software solution for Improv Comedy Theaters called Bentwood that I use every single day to keep the Magnet Theater running smoothly.

Robin Rothman

2. After we ate our pizza we brought the leftovers to nearby Second City Theatre and Robin Rothman enjoyed a slice on the curb before we both enjoyed Louie Pearlman's Songs N Scenes with Eli Sundae. Fun show!
