REVIEW:
A captain of L'industrie! In 2018, my pizza guests and I sat in three of the four stools in a small Williamsburg, Brooklyn slice shop called L'industrie. Despite the coziness of the dining area, we were not rushed nor crowded while we ate our delicious pizza. We were blown away at the attention to detail for each component of every slice received. From the blending of the flour to the sourcing of the ingredients to the expert baking techniques in the state-of-the-art electric ovens. So good, I awarded L'industrie a Slicey Award for "Best Slice." Thankfully, in the six years since, the focus on the product and the superb recipes hasn't changed a bit. What has changed is that people have taken notice. So much so, that the original spot expanded into the adjacent storefront and, more recently, L'industrie opened up a full fledged sit-down pizza shop in Manhattan's West Village. But no matter how spacious it is, it cannot even come close to satisfying the demand. The line at lunch runs down the block. Once you order, expect to stand in no-mans-land awaiting your name to be called. Lucky patrons successfully jockey for a table, or a chair, or even some wall space to lean against. The rest take their slices to go. One bite in to a L'industrie slice and the waiting and jockeying all make sense. This pizza is amazing and definitely worth the wait!
