REVIEW:
Pennsylvania's pizza mania. At Angelo’s Pizzeria in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, they take their pizza seriously. Whether you get your cuts (not “slices”) on their thick or their regular crust, make sure you try their signature "sweet sauce." The family secret recipe is made downstairs and literally hosed on to the pizzas. Yes, they use a hose to dispense red sauce on to the pizzas. I recommend topping it with a preferably smoked meat like bacon to counterbalance and complement the sugar in the sauce. The resulting salty-sweet combo will reveal why Angelo’s has endeared itself to the local area since 1963. That, and the prices. Feed the whole family and have room for a pint of draft birch beer while your pizzas bake. This proud family run pizza parlor loves their pizza and you will too.
