Day 28, 2021: 240 NYC (West Village, NYC)

DAY 28: OCTOBER 28th, 2021

LOCATION: 240 NYC (240 W 14th St, New York, NY 10011)

GUEST(S): Dave Hill

ORDER: 2 slices of Death by Pizza (shredded mozzarella, ricotta, spicy sausage, crushed red pepper, fresh basil), 1 slice of Margherita (tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, pecorino, fresh basil), 1 slice of Vodka (vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, pecorino, fresh basil), 1 slice of Pesto (pesto sauce, ricotta, pecorino, fresh basil)

REVIEW:

Life after Death [by Pizza]. During the massive closings due to the lockdown of 2020, a pop-up pizzeria called Death by Pizza opened up taking the city by storm. Now that pizzeria has a new West Village home and a new name to go with it: 240 NYC. But don't worry, it still serves pizza and the new digs allow for serving a whole lot more of it.  The space is huge. In addition to the full bar, spacious indoor and outdoor dining options, there is a room out back! 240 NYC is an event space in the right place at, hopefully, the right time. Assuming the pandemic is winding down, 240 NYC is poised to be a hip new party space in the heart of the city that also serves great pizza. The crisp uniform underside provides just the right amount of support for the high quality toppings. I am a fan of the 240 NYC tomato sauce, so I must recommend ordering at least one red pie. I also advocate ordering trying some of the signature pizzas. Whether you want something conventional like pepperoni or something more creative like the spicy, ricotta topped Death by Pizza, 240 NYC has it all. And you can order it all too! Even if you are a small party, their offerings come in three different sizes and the option to do half-and-half. I look forward to going back to 240 NYC - hopefully at a pizza party in the back room surrounding by great friends and equally great pizza.
