REVIEW: 
A pizza chef’s kiss! With the 2025 opening of Andrea’s Pizza, the East Village has a new slice spot serving up excellent, reasonably priced New York street slices—and then some. Head pizza maker Andrea Kenuti may be new to ownership, but he’s no rookie behind the counter. After honing his craft at Scarr’s and L’industrie, Andrea has become a one-man pizza machine—taking orders, stretching dough, topping pies, tending the oven, and making sure every customer leaves happy. The results speak for themselves. The classic New York slices are thin and crisp with that all-important puffy cornicione, while the Sicilian squares strike the perfect balance between light and substantial. Each slice gets a little extra love post-oven—freshly shaved pecorino, a drizzle of olive oil, and a hit of basil that elevates the whole experience. Do yourself a favor: grab one of each and go soon. Just a few months in, Andrea already has his gas-powered deck oven humming like a seasoned pro. It’s only a matter of time before this cozy slice shop is packed wall-to-wall. If you’re lucky enough to live nearby, Andrea’s Pizza might just become your new go-to neighborhood slice.

1. Happy Birthday, Erik Tanouye! You can see him performing at the Second City Theater in an improv comedy show called Old Yorkers.

2. Robin Rothman loves animals. On a recent trip to Colorado, she saw 64 elk, 5 mountain goats, 3 moose, 1 coyote, 1 mule deer, a herd of buffalo, numerous pikas, some marmots and me.
