DAY 27: OCTOBER 27th, 2016

LOCATION: Star Pizza (2111 Norfolk St, Houston, TX 77098)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman, Keith Huang

ORDER: 1 slice of Ben's (ground beef, italian sausage, pepperoni and ham), 2 slices of BBQ brisket (bbq brisket, jalapeño, onion, mozzarella), 1 slice of Pepperoni, 1 slice of Margherita, 1 slice of cheese (mix of mozzarella and provolone cheese)

REVIEW:
A friendly place. Exemplifying the Texas state motto of "friendship," Star Pizza is an art, sports and family-friendly Houston institution. Whether you opt to sit out on the spacious wrap-around patio or in one of the artfully painted booths inside, you will be surrounded by quirky art and happy patrons. Enjoy one of their sturdy deck oven topping-centric signature pies or come during the lunch buffet and try them all!  A few of the recipes date back to Star Pizza's opening in 1976 - but they are always adding something new. I recommend the recently introduced brisket. The thinly sliced beef comes with just enough barbecue sauce, jalapeños, and onions to give each bite a uniquely Texas kick. Little league teams might prefer a simpler option like the plain cheese with melted mozzarella perfect for epic cheese pulls. Whatever you get, pair it with a Texas-sized beverage and rest assured that the staff at Star Pizza will come by often to offer refills and friendly conversation.

Day 27

MISCELLANEOUS:

1. Keith Huang co-owns two ramen places in Houston called JINYA. They serve amazing ramen.  You don't have to take my word for it since they had over 1,000 yelp reviews in their first few months of operation.

2. Robin Rothman and I visited Johnson Space Center in Houston. We took the tram tour to see mission control, the rocket park, and the building with life-size replicas of the International Space Station.  It was awesome!
