REVIEW:
Ceres-ly good pizza! Thanks to Ceres (pronounced "see-reez"), Little Italy has another great pie joint. Although its quaint no-frills counter, kitchen, and dining area looks like a slice joint, Ceres no longer sells pizza by the slice. Why? Because it simply can't. Ever since a glowing David Portnoy one-bite review, demand has been overwhelming. Like a fine-tuned machine, the pizza chefs churn out premium pies as fast as possible without sacrificing quality for speed. Limiting options allows Ceres to master their menu. It is a sight to behold watching the pizzaiolo meticulously layer on expertly sliced onion, diced mushrooms, and crème fraiche on top of a perfect 18" circle of sour dough then closely monitor it through the baking process. Even after these masterpieces exit the state-of-the-art electric PizzaMaster ovens, they are then garnished with grated cheese and olive oil before being cut precisely into eight exact slices. The result is a physics defying firm, thin crust that easily supports its high quality ingredients. Premium pies come at premium price. Expect a wait and expect it to be worth it.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Michael McLarnon, Ange DeManti, Robin Rothman, Sean Taylor
1. I recruited Michael McLarnon to be a part of Learned League - an online trivia contest and community. I have been enjoying it for the past couple of years even though I often get 0-1 of the six daily questions right.

2. I was today years old when Ange DeManti taught me three things during one pizza meal. 1st of all, when, in gladiator times, the dude in charge turned his thumb upwards, that meant the gladiator was supposed to kill his opponent (I thought it was the other way around). Secondly, the etymology of the word "atone" is a combination of the words "at" and "one." And thirdly, there is a peep hole on 6th Avenue of the IFC Film Center movie theater that allows you to peek in and see what's playing on the screen.
3. Robin Rothman used our 90 minute wait time the wisest by quickly biking to work, getting work done, and then biking back. She Citibikes everywhere!

4. I met a food influencer from Philadelphia while we were eating our slices named Dave. He is @biggiebitesdave on instagram and seems like a nice guy.
