REVIEW:
Italian date night. Let the enchanting flames from the gas-powered revolving brick oven welcome you into Aromi like a cozy fireplace. Whether you sit at the bar, in the dining room or the rustic covered patio out back, get ready for an authentic non-rushed Italian experience. The hip vibe and enticing cocktail list make this Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn establishment an ideal date restaurant. The brick-oven "pizze" just adds to the charm. I recommend ordering a pizza to share as an appetizer ahead of a main course - which could be more pizza. Just like in Naples, expect the soft, puffy, slightly charred hand-crafted outer edge of individual sized pies to surround the melted high quality ingredients pooled within. Don’t be afraid to knife-and-fork it since that is what they do in old Napoli. Grazie, Aromi.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor and Robin Rothman
1. Robin Rothman and I dressed up very Celtic-ly today for a friend's costume party. I wore my loud St. Paddy's day hat-with-beard and my shamrock shirt. Robin wore a beret and a kilt she got in Scotland this past August when she was performing as part of the Festival Fringe in Edinburgh.

2. After pizza, we went to the birthday party of John Ross, one of the smartest and msot talented people I know. He codes, he performs, he writes, he is a tech-wizard, he watches 31 scary movies every October and he does great costumes. Oh, and he ages - Happy Birthday, John!
