ORDER: 1 slice of Sicilian, 1 slice of Sicilian with peppers and onion

REVIEW: 
I kicked off Day 1 of Pizza Month 2021 surrounded by friends at Angela’s Apt in Washington Heights, NYC. During the lockdown she perfected her recipes for Detroit style pizza and Ted Lasso-inspired biscuits. Both were delicious and I consider myself very lucky to have a friend with such incredible baking skills!

1. During the lockdown in 2020, Michael McLarnon, Maddy Mako, Matt Shafeek, Angela DeManti, Robin Rothman and I started doing a nightly zoom call.  Eventually we made it a weekly thing and as nice as it was, there is nothing like hanging out with these guys in real life.

2. Matt Shafeek has two cats: Ralph and Inigo. They love when he has people over.

3. Inigo even sat next to me and climbed on my lap.

Ted Lasso inspired shortbread cookies/biscuits

4. Angela DeManti, Michael McLarnon, Robin Rothman, Matt Shafeek and I love the TV show Ted Lasso.  Angela went so far as to look up a recipe for Ted's signature biscuits - and Rebecca is right, they are amazing.

5. Robin Rothman and I rode a Citibike up the greenway from midtown to 125th street and realized that we were in no condition to make it to Washington Heights and cabbed it the rest of the way.  The greenway is beautiful this time of year though.
