ORDER: 1 slice of regular, 1 slice of pepperoni
REVIEW:
Serving the city. Situated on Bleecker Street, in the heart of city, Fiore's pizza satisfies the stomachs of all New Yorkers. Musicians between gigs, late night revelers, cops on patrol, students between classes, hungry kids, lazy adults and everyone in between can count on Fiore's for a slice of New York pizza done "the right way." Sure, it's an opinionated, greasy no-nonsense slice, but it also has generous amounts of creamy mozzarella mixed with a flavorful tomato sauce and high quality toppings on a sturdy - and, yes, foldable - gas-powered cooked crust. Note that the slice should be foldable, but don't "fold it in half." I know this because there are instructions on how to eat pizza posted on the wall. You won't need instructions on how to enjoy Fiore's pizza and, if you do...fughetaboutit! I am confident this is exactly what owner Steve Cunningham dreamed this pizzeria would do. But it wasn't his dream, it was Mike's. Before he entered the pizza industry, Cunningham worked for the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) alongside his best friend, Mike Fiore. Mike was one of the 343 firefighters that lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. He died, but Steve kept his dream alive by opening a pizzeria in his name.
