REVIEW:
Eat, pray, love, USA. Featured in the 2010 movie Eat, Pray, Love, L'antica Pizzeria Da Michele in Naples, Italy became an overnight success 140 years after its founding. Ever since it "went Hollywood," it has since opened up a branch in Hollywood (California) and, more recently, in the West Village of New York City. Several adaptations have been necessary to survive in the American market. After all, the original, more rustic Da Michele offers just two pizza options; the Margherita and the Marinara, that patrons knife-and-fork their way through in a cozy dining room. The trendy West Village Da Michele, on the other hand, is huge. It sports three spacious dining areas as well as sidewalk seating, a vast menu of starters, desserts, a full bar and four times as many pizza options that arrive to the table pre-sliced. Also, the brick oven is gas powered, as opposed to the more authentic wood-burning original. Fortunately, this new outpost retains significant similarities where it really counts: the kitchen. The exact same ingredients, pizza preparation, and oven expertise developed and mastered since 1870 can be seen and eaten in New York City today. I recommend going to this new West Village Da Michele with a friend or two (the pies are larger than the typical Napoletana pizza) and sharing a Marinara and a Margherita and asking the server not to pre-slice it.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor, Robin Rothman, Matt Shafeek, Shannon Krowicki

1. Matt Shafeek is a video game expert. He was impressed that I currently win about 6.5% of the solo matches do in Fortnite.

Jon Bander, Steve Hofstetter, Jarret Berenstein

2. After dinner we all went to the City Winery to see a hilarious stand up show featuring Steve Hofstetter and two of our fellow improv friends (Jon Bander & Jarret Berenstein). They tour frequently and I strongly recommend you see them.

3. Shannon Krowicki performs on the same musical improv team as Robin Rothman. They are called Secret, Secret and they perform every Thursday at the Magnet Theater.
