DAY 10: OCTOBER 10th, 2023

LOCATION: Saint Pizza  (223 Avenue B, New York, NY 10009)

GUEST(S): Robert Kern, Prudence Anna DiBenedetto

ORDER: 1/3 slice of Wrath (Jalapeño, caramelized onion, mozzarella, oven tomato), 1/3 slice of Greed (Sauce, meatball, bacon, sausage, smoked mozzarella), 1/3 slice of Lust (Ham, burrata, pistachio cream, parm blessing), 1/3 slice of Square, 1/3 slice of grandma (fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, parmesan), 1/4 slice of Michelangelo (Mushroom, Caramelized oniions, Ricotta, Fresh Mozzarella, Arugula), 1/4 slice of New York

REVIEW:
Heavenly pizza. Saint Pizza in Manhattan’s East Village offers just the right amount of options to all but guarantee there is one perfect for you. Try them all, from the NY Style cheese to the chef’s special Michelangelo or one of a number of cleverly named signatures. Have a Blessed day, unless you are not into vodka and pesto sauce. The Lust, a crisp Roman style slice loaded with ham and burrata, proves that it is a lot better to eat a deadly sin than it is to commit one. My favorite was the twice-baked grandma slice. Its melted fresh mozzarella and rich tomato sauce on the crisp-yet-light square crust will keep me coming back. Like Fini Pizza in Williamsburg, Saint Pizza is a modern retro pizzeria specializing in quick, quality classic New York street slices. While the lack of seats, tables and restrooms assure you will be eating streetza (term coined by my wife on 10/14/23 that means literally eating pizza on the street), it also helps keep the prices affordable. So, when you see the Saint Pizza, go marching in!
