LOCATION: De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies (2350 NJ-33, Robbinsville Twp, NJ 08691)
GUEST(S): Robin Rothman, Michael McLarnon
ORDER: 3 sectors of a large Tomato Pie with sausage and extra sauce
REVIEW:
Top Tomato [Pie]. When it comes to the Trenton Tomato Pie, look no further than De Lorenzo’s and Papa’s. Although, the original De Lorenzo’s was founded 24 years after its counterpart, both have been defining the style for over 85 years. First in Trenton, and now in Robbinsville, the two pizza institutions make wherever they go more delicious. As rivals, each have their devotees and “haters” but, with good pizza, everyone wins. As a fan of thinner crust, I prefer De Lorenzo’s. The crisp gas oven baked underside provides more than enough support for the extra sauce and sausage that I recommend ordering. Each pie is hand cut with a kitchen knife in sectors as opposed to slices so instead of eating 8 slices, you can eat 10! It’s a fun quirk and I love it. The premium ingredients and perfectly melted cheese topped with the savory tomato sauce is exactly what I want pizza to be. De Lorenzo’s has made this pizza boy into a Tomato Pie Man.

1. Michael McLarnon drove Robin Rothman and me all the way to Robbinsville, NJ for pizza. It was an awesome pizza pilgrimage and I recommend it to anyone that really loves pizza. In addition to De Lorenzo's, we also went to Papa's Tomato Pies.

2. In between pizzerias (or should I say Tomato Pie-rias?) we went to the Grounds of Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ where we saw 3d versions of famous paintings and a whole lot more.
