REVIEW:
Oldie but a Great-ie. For well over a hundred years, Papa’s has been making and defining the Trenton “tomato pie,” and, hopefully will continue to do so for hundreds of years to come. This family owned and operated business originated in Trenton, New Jersey in 1912 before eventually moving to their current location in Robbinsville in 2013. Now, firmly a pizza institution, Papa’s Tomato Pies sports a spacious dining room with ample outdoor seating and a takeaway window as well. The result is that at any given moment, little league teams, families, daters, and the pizza-loving masses can enjoy Papa’s all at the same time. Papa’s is known for a mustard pie which involves a layer of spicy brown mustard between the crust and the cheese. It's tasty but only order it if you and your party like mustard. I recommend the regular (non-mustard) tomato pie with sausage and extra sauce. The sausage is meal-worthy by itself but even better when combined with tangy tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese on a crisp and thin, but not too thin, crust. Given the high caliber of pizza quality, prices are very reasonable at Papa's. No wonder why so many people swear by it. Papa’s Tomato Pies is not only one of the first in the business but one of the best!

1. Michael McLarnon, Robin Rothman, and I went on pizza pilgrimage. We had the intention of going to Old Forge, Pennsylvania but bad weather made us change our destination to Robbinsville, NJ instead. Papa's was stop one of two for the pizza road trip. The second was De Lorenzo's.Robin, Michael, Sean
2. After pizza stop 1 and before pizza stop 2, we gathered an appetite by walking around the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. In between pizza pies, we found a sculpture pi.
