ORDER: 1 slice of vodka (Homemade Vodka Sauce, Fresh Mozzarella, dressed with parmesan, fresh oregano and EVOO), 1/2 slice of Angry Butcher (tomatoes, mozzarella, pecorino romano, soppressata, pepperoni, meatballs, crumbled sausage, shaved grana, basil, spicy honey, EVOO), 1/2 slice of white pie (Fresh mozzarella, fior di latte, ricotta, pecorino romano, fresh oregano EVOO), 1/2 slice of cheese (Homemade tomato sauce, freshly grated mozzarella, finished with EVOO, fresh basil and oregano)

REVIEW: 

An exceptional street slice.  Zazzy's Pizza in the Manhattan's Lower East Side is new to the neighborhood but not to the New York slice.  These slices are big, thin, sturdy and surrounded by a puffy outer edge. They crease and fold like a city slice should and they taste great! Whether you opt for the seasoned Vodka, the buttery White Pie, the meaty Angry Butcher, or any other slice, expect premium ingredients and a lot of them. The cheese slice, for instance, comes with imported Neapolitan tomatoes, fresh and whole milk mozzarella, grated Pecorino Romano cheese and then garnished with shaved Grana Padano, basil and olive oil.  That's four different cheeses! And that is what I recommend getting at Zazzy's.  At least one cheese slice and whatever else looks like it recently came out of the oven.  If half or more of the pie is still available in the glass counter, that's a good sign. Whatever you get, grab some napkins and, if you have time, a seat in the indoor or outdoor dining areas. If not though, feel free to fold it and take it to go. After all, Zazzy's makes the idyllic New York street slice.

1. Paulie Gee opened an eponymous pizzeria and a slice joint in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Soon there will be a Paulie Gee's Slice Shop in Chicago and New Orleans.  Also, today I learned what the word "eponymous" means.
