DAY 12: OCTOBER 12th, 2019

LOCATION: Zuppardi's Apizza (179 Union Ave, West Haven, CT 06516)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman, Clara, Jen MacNeil Danenberg, Kevin Danenberg

ORDER: 1 slice of a small Fresh Clam (white pizza, sucked-to-order littleneck clams, garlic, spices) with mozzarella, 4 slices of a small The Special (red pizza, mozzarella, mushrooms, and homemade fennel sausage)

REVIEW:
Family owned, family friendly. Since 1932, the Zuppardi family has helped establish Connecticut apizza (uh-beetz) as some of the best in the world. Shortly after opening his own place, Dominic Zuppardi moved his family and baking skills away from New Haven's crowded pizza market to nearby West Haven.  Over the next 50 years, the name "Zuppardi's" has earned its status alongside Frank Pepe’s, Sally’s, and Modern as an apizza institution, distinguishing itself not only by its West Haven address but by phonetically sounding the most like “ah'pizza party.” With plenty of dining area and a menu pleasing to all ages, it is an ideal place for your next pizza party.  There is a reason these recipes have stood the test of time. My favorite is the appropriately named "The Special" which combines homemade fennel sausage and mushrooms with melted mozzarella (mootz) and tomato sauce to create a hardy-yet-savory nectar that will leave you wanting more. Evenly distributed toppings ensure every single bite is packed with flavor and held up with a sturdy gas-powered crisp crust. Whether there are two or twenty-two of you wondering where you should eat for dinner, the answer is the same: Zuppardi's.

the Stachelvarius mouthpiece
2. Kevin Danenberg invented a new saxophone mouthpiece. I mean like designed it, 3D printed prototypes, had it cast in bronze, and then got a design patent on it.  Also, I've seen it in real life and it is a beauty! link here: https://stachelvarius.com/

4. Jen MacNeil Danenberg does a great sitcom intro pose.
