REVIEW:
The reverse Oregon trail. Portland, Oregon wouldn't be the first place you'd think of for exporting pizzerias and Brooklyn is the LAST place you'd expect them to end up yet Sizzle Pie found a way. Now with two homes in the pizza borough, Sizzle Pie is looking to add more by embracing rather than replacing the New York slice. Selling pizza by the extra large grab-and-go slice placates the neighbors by paying homage to the quintessential Brooklyn style but separates themselves by placing the focus on creative topping combinations, promoting eco-friendliness, and offering vast dietary options. Also, the branding rocks - literally. Extreme slogans like "Death to False pizza" in heavy metal fonts and art combining hard rock and pizza can be found on the walls of the dining area and in the spacious outdoor seating area. Time will tell if Sizzle Pie becomes the best of both coasts but its definitely unique. Try one of the hilariously named signature pies when you're looking for something different...but not too different.

2. Juan and I met playing softball about a decade ago in Prospect Park as part of a Friday afternoon league appropriately named Slacker. Currently, we both play in Williamsburg Softball League (WSL) fall ball for different teams. Our teams did not play each other today so we were able to eat in peace.
