Day 10, 2014: La Piazza Al Forno (Glendale, AZ)

DAY 10: OCTOBER 10th, 2014

LOCATION: La Piazza Al Forno (5803 W. Glendale Ave. Glendale, AZ)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman

ORDER:  4 slices of Italian Stallion (San Marzano tomatoes DOP, house made mozzarella, Schreiners sausage, Parma cotta, spores sata) and 2 slices of Margherita DOC

REVIEW:
Beyond "Vera" good!  La Piazza Al Forno's pizza options strike the perfect blend of authentic Neapolitan tradition and original artisan pizza-making.  This quaint Glendale restaurant proudly sports their Vera Pizza Napoletana (VPN) designation certifying both that the ingredients and preparation techniques are consistent with the age-old Naples style.  But the proof is in the pie - each and every pie!  Expect rich San Marzano tomato sauce and creamy house-made mozzarella drizzled with extra virgin olive oil then kissed by the Stafano Ferrara wood-fired brick oven to create a delicious work of art every time.  Oven mastery is the pizzaioli's forte at this Father and Son pizzeria whose name fittingly contains the Italian word for "oven."  Get creative and try one of the unique signature pies like the Italian Stallion.  Guy Fieri did on his show Diners, Dive-Ins and Dives just as I did on my 2014 Quest for the 31 Days of Pizza.  We both loved it and so will you.  What are you waiting for? La Piazza Al Forno has a table ready for you now!

MISCELLANEOUS:
As Seen On TV
1. La Piazza Al Forno was featured on the TV show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.  Guy Fieri ordered the Italian Stallion so I did the same.

2. Robin Rothman and I drove from Las Vegas to Arizona via the Hoover Dam.  We stopped and took a lot of photos.
3. Arizona does not do daylight savings time so sometimes Nevada and Arizona are on different times and sometimes they are not.
