REVIEW:
Of, By, and For the Family Pizzeria. If you’ve been serving pizza since 1929, you’re doing something right. TAT Ristorante di Famiglia, founded by Pete and Philomena Corrova, is one of those rare places where the word famiglia truly means something. Nearly a century later, the Corrova family is still running the show—Marianne up front and Michelle in the kitchen—serving up hearty, family-style Italian food to generations of loyal locals and first-time guests alike (who are quickly treated like family too). According to their website, the Corrovas literally introduced pizza to Columbus. After tasting it, I believe them. The pies are loaded—these folks don’t skimp on toppings. Cheese lovers, rejoice: it’s a mozzarella playground with classic cheese pulls in every direction. The gas-powered oven crust, aided by more-than-a-hint of cornmeal, held up beautifully under the generous weight. TAT (that’s “T-A-T”) isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a Columbus institution. The place is enormous, with two ballroom-sized dining rooms filled with booths and long tables perfect for families, teams, or anyone with an appetite for tradition. One visit and you’ll see why this is a spot that’s been feeding—and defining—Columbus for nearly 100 years.
