REVIEW:
Orchard to Table. If you think apple picking is the main draw at Pennings Orchard in Warwick, New York, think again. This Hudson Valley destination is an all-day autumn adventure — complete with a beer garden, live music, a farmer’s market, cider donuts, ice cream, and even goat races! But tucked inside the cidery kitchen lies my favorite surprise: pizza. A gas-powered oven turns out individual-sized pies as fast as they can feed the crowds. And crowds there are! On nice-weather weekends, every parking spot fills up, buses roll in, and hungry visitors queue up for their orders. Pro tip: place your pizza order before heading off to pick apples. With demand this high, the focus is on keeping up with the orders rather than perfecting every crust. The standout here is the Apple Gouda Pie — a perfect orchard-to-table creation featuring freshly picked apples, roasted garlic, prosciutto, red onion, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. It’s sweet, savory, and totally unique. If you’re ordering for the family, the classic cheese is a reliable hit with kids (and adults who just want to keep things simple). Pennings Orchard may be known for its fruit, but their pizza proves they’re harvesting flavor in more ways than one.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor, Robin Rothman

1. Robin Rothman and I went on a day trip to Pennings Orchard which was run by Sourced Adventures. It was a lot of fun and I recommend it.

2. Robin Rothman and I both wore our Rocky Mountain National Park baseball hats. They have a huge embroidered panoramic view from the park with an amazing elk. We got them in the gift shop at the park in Colorado and they were expensive - but the profits go to the park - which is an awesome park.

3. Robin Rothman and I picked two pecks of apples up at the orchard after eating pizza at the cidery restaurant. That's so many apples! If you come over, please eat one.
