DAY 3: OCTOBER 3rd, 2023

LOCATION: Pizza Collective (2060 Broadway, New York, NY 10023)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman, Ange Demanti

ORDER: 1/2 slice of Margherita (Organic tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil), 1/4 slice of Tricolore (Organic tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil), 1/2 slice of Emiliana (Fresh Burrata, Pistachio cream, Marinated Mortadella)

REVIEW:
A good place to Rome. Thanks to Pizza Collective, residents of Manhattan’s Upper West Side can now enjoy Roman style pizza without leaving their neighborhood. The square shape of the style enables more pizza to be baked at the same time in the same oven to satisfy more Romans. However, in Rome, these topping centric concoctions are typically ordered and weighed al taglio ("by the cut") where as at Pizza Collective, the slices are pre-cut to expedite purchase. Each slice is generously topped with high quality ingredient combinations on a 96 hour fermented dough that results in a crisp and sturdy foundation for their surprisingly filling signature pies. I was a particular fan of the cherry tomatoes on the Tricolore that explode in your mouth with each bite. Come during the mealtime rush to ensure your pizza is fresh out of the oven - and if you have dietary restriction, Pizza Collective has you covered.

MISCELLANEOUS:

1. Robin Rothman and Ange Demanti agree that parents shouldn't crack eggs on their children's heads (despite the tiktok trend).

MaryLoo, Robin
2. Since it was such an unseasonably warm and sunny day, Robin and I went up to our building's roof for what might be the last time of the year...and we brought our cat, MaryLoo, with us!

3. Ange Demanti had a celebrity sighting (and happy encounter) the other day from someone she recognized from the Nickelodeon show Pete & Pete - and no, it wasn't Pete or Pete!
