REVIEW:
Fini is Fin-omenal. By churning out some of the tastiest slices on the market, Fini Pizza is justifiably garnering a lot of attention. If you happen to live or work in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area, just look for the green striped awning with the long line of hungry patrons on Bedford Avenue. Though their website indicates neighborhood pizzerias inspired the creation of Fini Pizza, the overwhelming response has thrust this newcomer into a category of its own. Despite the fact their dining area consists of just 5 stools, a ledge and no access to a public restroom, Fini serves throngs of customers and foodies venturing out from all over the city to grab a slice and a selfie. The hustle and bustle takes place on both sides of the counter. In their attempt to keep up with the ridiculous demand, the well-trained staff are hard at work in plain sight slapping dough, layering toppings, baking, slicing, plating, garnishing, and delivering each slice to the soon-to-be-satisfied customer. The word is out on Fini and yet they somehow continue to meet these unreal expectations. There aren't many options on the throwback letter board menu but each is as good or better than the last. I recommend all of them. It is the small things that make the difference. The garlic breadcrumbs on the Tomato, for instance, or the lemon that comes alongside the White - clearly, these slices were constructed to maximize flavor. Fini has done their culinary research. Whether it is the meshing of flavor profiles, adding the perfect amounts of top quality ingredients, the training of the expert staff or a combination of all three, the products that exit the electric oven on their thin-yet-sturdy crust make it all worthwhile. I'm looking forward to a Fini opening up near me.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Sean Taylor and Michael McLarnon
1. Michael McLarnon met me after my Williamsburg Softball League (WSL) softball game since he lives near the field. It was our first game of the fall season and, while my team lost, I did go 4 for 4 with a couple of runs scored.
Matt Shafeek
2. I bumped into my Day #4 pizza guest Matt Shafeek on my way to the train. He was all dressed up on his way to a wedding so I had to snap a photo.
Memorial in honor of Ronnie Ortiz Jr.
3. Ronnie Ortiz Jr, a beloved member of the Williamsburg Softball League (WSL) community tragically fell victim to a senseless violent crime just over a month ago. On top of being an amazing player, he was a good person. Candles and memorabilia have been left behind the backstop of field #2 in McCarren Park in his honor. To support Ronnie's family, a fundraiser has been created here. RIP
