Day 15, 2021: Nonna's Pizza & Italian Restaurant (Florham Park, NJ)

DAY 15: OCTOBER 15th, 2021

LOCATION: Nonna's Pizza & Italian Restaurant (176 Columbia Turnpike, Florham Park, NJ 07932)

GUEST(S): Armando Diaz, Gabrielle Berberich

ORDER: 2 slices of Margherita (fresh mozzarella, San Marzano tomato sauce), 1/3 slice of Grandpa (mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, grated cheese, oregano, olive oil), 1/3 slice of Nonna's (mozzarella, herbed San Marzano tomato sauce), 2/3 slice of Buffalo Chicken (breaded chicken, buffalo sauce, celery, blue cheese)

Stick to the sauce! With a name like Nonna's - the Italian word for "Grandma" - it's no wonder the tomato sauce is the highlight of this Florham Park pizzeria and restaurant. It's used early, often, and everywhere on all of my favorite slices. The role of the crisp and airy crust is simple: be the vehicle to deliver the savory tomato sauce into our wanting mouths.  I recommend the signature Grandpa slice which is a square piece of mozzarella-infused bread drenched from edge-to-edge with Nonna's red "gravy." My second favorite is the round Margherita which also does its fair share of funneling that delicious sauce into faces as well.  Outfitted with a spacious dining area (including a few tables outside), Nonna's is a great place for lunch slices and dinner pies. The word is out on Nonna's. Expect a line, albeit quick-moving, during the lunch rush.  I trust that the line will continue for as long as their exceptional sauce keeps flowing. If I lived near Nonna's, I would be in that line all of the time.

Day 15

Sean, Armando, Gabrielle
1. Armando Diaz and I visited Gabrielle Berberich's awesome historic home, (parts of which date back as far back as 1740) in rural New Jersey. We quite enjoyed taking a dip in her pool and visiting with the many deer that roam freely around the area.

2. Nonna's has their own labeled Birch Beer!
