LOCATION: Freschetta Kitchen Fresh Pizza (from Smith's in Las Vegas, NV)
GUEST(S): Robin Rothman
ORDER: 4.5 slices of Brick Oven Pepperoni
REVIEW:
A great slice, reheated. Freschetta's Kitchen Fresh Brick Oven Pepperoni pizza tastes more like a leftover slice of a freshly baked pizza than a conventional frozen pizza. After following the three easy instructions, the resulting pizza is reinvigorated with a zesty pepperoni made from chicken, beef, and pork and a buttery blend of parmesan, pecorino, and mozzarella cheeses. The melted cheese blend seems to linger on your tongue and the roof of your mouth - which is fine since it's good cheese. I also enjoyed the well portioned savory tomato sauce. As advertised on the box, the most impressive feature is the crust. Despite lacking the characteristic char from a hot burning flame, the firm-yet-chewy underside and outer edge serves as a reasonable substitute for a brick oven crust. I had to rip off a segment so it would fit in the toaster oven I have in my quarantine room but that meant when I was done with the first part, I had seconds awaiting! Freschetta Kitchen Fresh Pizza is a great brand and I look forward to having it again.
