REVIEW:
Trust the brand. Trader Joe's sources their products from around the world, stamps their name (or something they deem similar) on the best ones, then sells them. It should come as no surprise that one of those products is frozen pizza. Trader Giotto's Pizza Margherita provides more evidence that whomever is "trading" on behalf of "Joe" has excellent taste. For one, it is imported from Italy. Secondly, it bakes up quickly like the real thing. And finally, aesthetically speaking, it resembles an authentic Margherita. Despite the inevitable letdown that the large circles of white cheese on a frozen pizza could not possibly be "fresh" mozzarella, the taste and consistency of the low-moisture part-skim mozzarella was an admirable substitute. When combined with the Grano Padano, tomato sauce, and basil on the firm-yet-chewy thin crust, the overall experience was a respectable attempt at Napoletana. If you happen to be fortunate enough to live near a Trader Joe's, grab a frozen pizza!
