REVIEW:
Field of pizza dreams. If you build a pizzeria between Carroll Gardens institutions Frankies and Frank's, they will come. Well, you did and they have. Frank Castronovo and Frank Falcinelli's F&F Pizzeria burst onto the Brooklyn pizza scene October 1st, 2019 and it is an instant hit! People line up around the block to get a taste of the three to four hand-written offerings on the makeshift menu. Upon my arrival, the Sicilian and Sicilian pepperoni had already been scribbled our leaving me the choice between the Regular cheese and the Tomato pie. I opted for both and I would and will do it again. Thanks to input provided by baker extraordinaire Chad Robertson (of Tartine Bakery) and pizza master Chris Bianco (of Pizzeria Bianco) these seemingly simplistic sounding names provide a taste that is both complex and "easily digestible," according to Grub Street. The two Franks' focus on sourcing the best ingredients for the most basic components results in your new favorite slice place. There isn't much to the interior beyond the kitchen but their symbiotic relationship with Frankies Sputino next door opens up a covered garden dining area in the back for a couple of dozen of happy patrons. If history is any indicator of what to expect from any business run by the Franks, F&F Pizzeria is only going to get better. As the pizza makers familiarize themselves with the electric ovens and find ways to meet the overwhelming demand for their products, F&F Pizzeria is destined for greatness.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Chuck, Robin, Sean, Joe (and Alana)
 1. Chuck and Alana Divak live in the area with Joe.  Joe enjoyed opening and closing the pizza box.  My kind of kid.

2. My blue reading glasses gave up the ghost while we were eating pizza.  This also marks the first time where I have used the phrase "gave up the ghost."

Turkey's Nest Champs 2019
3. Chuck Divak and I spent a good portion of this summer playing softball in the Williamsburg Softball League on a team called the Turkey's Nest.  We won the championship this year and Chuck was a primary contributor.

4. Robin Rothman spent the evening at a concert for the Talking Heads' David Byrne.
