DAY 8: OCTOBER 8th, 2017

LOCATION: Area Four (500 Technology Square, Cambridge, MA 02139)

GUEST(S): Linda Butterworth, Andrew Butterworth, Nathaniel Rink, Carter, Astoria, Franklin

ORDER: 1 slice of Carnivore (A4 Mozzarella, Tomato, Sopressata, Sausage and Bacon), Hawaiian (A4 Mozzarella, Tomato, Ham, Cilantro and Scallions, Roasted Pineapple Salsa), Mushroom and Fontina (Mushroom Sauce, Pecorino and Gremolata), 1 slice of Margherita (A4 Mozzarella, Tomato, Pecorino and Basil)

REVIEW:
A4 effort and originality. Area Four makes their own rules, mozzarella, and fonts! This Cambridge, Massachusetts pizzeria finds hip new ways to make traditional food and drink accessible to everyone. I will leave it to the Harvard undergrads at the next table to figure out how Area Four manages to be trendy yet affordable and family-friendly. My priority was to devour the signature pizzas starting with Margherita. Topped with melted fresh mozzarella (made in-house) and blended with grated pecorino, savory tomato sauce and basil, the classic Margherita pie is as authentic as it is delicious. Other creative pies like the Carnivore and Mushroom and Fontina, contain the best meat and the fanciest cheeses on the market. All of these high quality ingredients are skillfully placed on a hand-crafted crust, then cooked in a brick oven that has both gas and wood fire to ensure an even bake every time. Visit Area Four for a fancy brunch with friends, a nice meal with the family, a hot date, or just because you want to follow in former president Barack Obama's footsteps. Whatever the reason, you won't regret it.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Sean, Franklin, Linda, Nat, Astoria, Andy, Carter

1. Nathaniel Rink had a birthday party and that's what brought me into town. He and Andrew Butterworth are my friends from college that I don't get to see enough.

2. Linda Butterworth is a gardener and has great taste in coffee.

3. Linda also gave birth to my other pizza guests and they are hilarious, well-mannered, and nice kids. They even taught me how to talk to Alexa and get her to play songs from the movie Moana. There is hope for the next generation yet!

4. Former President Barack Obama did eat here, btw. Here is a link to the story in the Boston Globe.
