REVIEW:
The United States' oldest Colony...Grill.  Since it opened in Stamford, Connecticut in 1935, Colony Grill has had a hand in defining what the pizza world knows as "bar pie." These two words also sum up their entire business model. Half of the dining area is a family style pizzeria that serves beverages from the bar, and the other half is a bar that serves pizza pies. This simple formula works so well because the pizza is delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. I have it on good authority that the gluten-free pies are amongst the best on the market. Each thin, shiny pie can be even more reflective with the addition of the signature hot oil.  I recommend going with a friend and sharing one hot oil and sausage pie and one "other" pie of your choice, which I can't blame you if it's just another hot oil and sausage pie. They are reasonably priced, more than reasonably filling, and always a good idea. Just recently, four Colony devotees (who also happen to be members of the 1989 Trumbull Little League World Series championship team) have invested in the business and are spreading the good pizza to Norwalk, Fairfield, Milford and beyond. These grown-up champs are still maintaining their winning ways and with more Colony Grills in the world, everyone wins.

MISCELLANEOUS:
Jen, Clara, Kevin, Sean, Robin
1. Clara loves to be sung to. She is not a big fan of wooden restaurant high chairs.

2. Kevin Danenberg taught me how air flows through a saxophone. He should know, he plays a mean one and even designs mouthpieces.

3. Jen MacNeil Danenberg and Robin Rothman sang a cover of "Dreams" by the Cranberries that I think they would have liked.  I sure did.  So did Clara. They both have an ability to instinctively harmonize with any note they hear.
