REVIEW:
Cornering the Gotham pizza Market. Tucked in the north end of the Gotham West Market, the appropriately named Corner Slice offers some of the best bakery fresh square slices of pizza in the city. With a menu that consists of just four signature pies and a daily special, pizza makers quickly learn and master the proven recipes. Patrons also benefit since the limited options mean fresher pies and fewer decisions. My choice was the Spicy Salami. Layered with a chili infused tomato sauce, loaded with a blend of high quality fresh mozzarella and pecorino cheeses, and topped with spicy soppressata, the dough is then baked to a crisp flavor packed perfection. For the less spicy or meatless inclined, opt for the Cheese Pie. Combining three different cheeses, basil, and a savory red sauce, Corner Slice can be the Italian grandmother you never had.
