REVIEW:
A pizza ranch! On the edge of Texas’s Hill Country, Stanley’s Farmhouse is a ranch like no other. Sure it’s got livestock, barns, and wide open ranges, but its also got wood-fired pizza and top flight craft beer. The signature pizzas are topped with locally harvested high quality ingredients and cooked in a Neapolitan style with a puffy outer edge and a thin center. Patrons drink and dine on picnic tables in the spacious barn creating a mellow beer garden atmosphere with golden oldies echoing throughout. Keeping with the motif, the restrooms are located in an Airstream trailer - and yes, there is a trough in the men’s room! On weekends, Stanley’s fills up unpaved parking lot after unpaved parking lot with patrons seeking this unique family-friendly experience. As for the pizza, I recommend the Willie which comes with authentic Texas brisket, jalepenos, and red onion mixed with a tasty cheese blend of mozzarella and sharp cheddar with just enough cilantro for a distinct Tex-Mex Italian pie. It won't be long before they have to add another oven to keep up with the overwhelming demand for good pizza and good beer. In the meantime, the young staff is working non-stop doing the best they can to keep up with the demand for the Neapolitan pies so permit the occasional over flour’ed underside. Given its proximity to the Jester King brewery and arsenal of Texas brews, Stanley’s Farmhouse is the perfect destination for everything from casual everyday celebrations to more special dressed-up occasions.

2. Robin Rothman loved the look of the wood on the barn door so we schlepped the guitar out and took a bunch of pix. She looks good in all of them.
