Day 9, 2012: Patsy's Pizzeria (Chelsea, NYC)

DAY 9: OCTOBER 9th, 2012

LOCATION: Patsy's (Chelsea, NYC)

ORDER: 2 slices of Pepperoni, 1 slice of Mushroom

GUEST: Alan Fessenden, Joe Miles, Vince Milosevich, Andrew Vuilleumier

REVIEW:
Patsy's is a must-eat in all NYC area pizza endeavors.  I strongly recommend the pepperoni slice.  Floating in a sea of savory crushed tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese on a golden-brown, evenly cooked coal-fired brick oven crust, the concave crispy-on-the-rim, soft-in-the-middle salami discs provide a unique consistency in addition to spicy zest with each bite.  Sprinkled throughout, the freshly cut basil offers a final touch of complementary taste that truly sets a Patsy's pepperoni slice apart from all others.

MISCELLANEOUS:
1. All of my guests and I make up 5/8 of Jacktown, a resident sketch comedy ensemble from the Magnet Theater.  Our next show is Sunday (October 21st at 9:30pm).  If it's anything like tonight's rehearsal, it's gonna be really funny.
2. Vince and I both worked at Pizza Hut AND Papa John's.  Joe also worked for another pizzeria in the past.  Alan worked at an Italian restaurant and Andrew worked for a grocery named for its Italian owner.  So, if your kid works a job that traces its roots to Italy don't be surprised if he or she doesn't end up pursuing comedy.
