DAY 31: OCTOBER 31st, 2017

LOCATION: Massoni (11 E 31st St, New York, NY 10016)

GUEST(S): Robin Rothman, Scott Wiener, Michael McLarnon, Meryl

ORDER: 1 slice of pepperoni, pickled pepper, honey and half a slice of cheese, sauce, oregano

REVIEW:
Motown pizza meets Midtown. Tucked just inside the Arlo Hotel you'll find Massoni, a pizza joint surrounded by a menagerie of Italian delicacies from espresso to Detroit style Sicilian pizza. While this works perfectly for the consumer on the go, Massoni also offers a full sit-down experience in its spacious uber-stylish dining room hidden just beyond the hotel lobby complete with full bar and attentive wait staff. Wherever you decide to dine, make sure you eat the pizza! Two by two, the thick square slices ensure that everyone gets an edge complete with the characteristic burnt cheese ends. As good as the crust is, the focus of this style of pizza is on the toppings and Massoni only uses top-of-the-line ingredients. My favorite, the pepperoni signature pie, comes loaded with hand cut pepperoni, pickled peppers, creamy mozzarella, savory tomato sauce and a touch of honey. Every bite is unique in taste and consistency, with varying degrees of spiciness, sweetness, cheesiness, and crispness. I am glad to have given Massoni a test drive and can't wait to return to the delicious dealership!

Day 31
MISCELLANEOUS:
Michael, Meryl, Scott, Robin, Sean
1. I met Meryl today. She would be a ringer for a pub trivia team in need of a pop culture expert.  She also broke out a costume mid-meal and then it was gone by the end. It was a great bringing together of friends past, present, future and also my wife.

2. Scott Wiener (from Scott's Pizza Tours) and I took a similar photo exactly seven years ago.
Robin as Trudy Carmichael
3. Robin Rothman costumed up after pizza into her alter-ego Trudy Carmichael to host and perform in the Musical Magnet Mixer at the Magnet Theater.

4. Michael McLarnon came to pizza s my friend and Meryl came as Scott's friend but it turns out that Michael and Meryl have known each other longer than I have known either one. #SmallWorld
